Basic

Practical Implications of the Mental Health Act 2007

Most suitable for the workforce who are not specialist mental health service providers, but who have inter - related involvement with patients for whom compulsion is an issue – for example Accident and Emergency staff, police, third sector providers, care assistants, support workers, housing staff from the independent, statutory and voluntary sector.

Intermediate

An Overview of the Mental Health Act 2007

Most suitable for the wider mental health workforce who provide mental health services to patients subject to compulsion – for example residential and day care managers, social workers, nurses etc.

Advanced

Master Class on the Mental Health Act 2007

An in-depth look at the main changes to the Mental Health Act 1983 made by the 2007 Act. Most suitable for those clinicians and practitioners who have specific duties and responsibilities in respect of the current legislation – for example approved social workers, section 12 doctors, consultant psychiatrists, ward managers, senior nurses, mental health act administrators etc

Executive briefing

Master Class on the Mental Health Act 2007

A two hour Executive Briefing (e.g. 4.30 – 6.30pm) for up to 30 participants. Most suitable for general practitioners and senior managers in the health and social care sectors (including voluntary, independent and statutory).
