Human Rights Act 1998 Training Programmes

It is over seven years since the Human Rights Act was fully implemented in this country. Promoting human rights is not just a legal activity; it needs to be at the heart of everything mental health professionals do. Human rights are a powerful tool for improving mental health services. MHTN is pleased to offer four levels of training:

Basic

Making Human Rights Real - the Practical Implications of the Human Rights Act in Mental Health Settings

Most suitable for unqualified staff, e.g. care assistants, support workers, housing staff from the independent, statutory and voluntary sector.

Intermediate

You’re Human, Right? - Working with the Human Rights Act in Mental Health Settings

Most suitable for residential and day care managers, social workers, nurses etc.

Advanced

Master Class on the Human Rights Act in Mental Health Settings

Most suitable for qualified and experienced staff – for example - approved social workers, section 12 doctors, consultant psychiatrists, ward managers, senior nurses etc. who already have a basic understanding of the Act.

Executive briefing

All You Need to Know About the Human Rights Act

Two hour Executive Briefing (e.g. 4.30 – 6.30pm). Most suitable for general practitioners and senior managers in the health and social care sectors (voluntary, independent and statutory).
